| The Archifab team have recently completed a challenging project for Sainsburys plc which involved the supply and installation of GRP composite bullnose fascia panels. |
 |
Architects Pick Everard, well-known for their confident, creative designs, and sub-contractor Met-Clad Limited were both suitably impressed with Archifab's GRP solution. See for yourself what they thought of the results! "With this project we initially considered Aluminium as the most suitable material but soon realised the benefits of using GRP. I was slightly less than open minded about GRP but this project has certainly opened my eyes (and mind) to the potential uses. When confronted with shapes or details that other materials either can't produce or can, but at a cost, GRP provides a solution. The bullnose at Maypole was fairly simple but the apparent strength of the units was very impressive. Overall, the proof of the material is in the finished product, and I think we could not have achieved the striking look of the features created in GRP, as well with another material." Andy Smith, Pick Everard
"Having originally considered Polyester Powder coated Aluminium, we eventually settled on GRP because of its unique flexibility. This then allowed us to supply and fit a bullnose, carved in two planes, which would not have been achievable using any other materials. In addition, GRP was considerably more competitive in terms of cost, and there was absolutely no wastage because of the bespoke aspect of production. We were so impressed with the performance of the Archifab team workmanship, and their running of the project, that we spoke to them direct to express our sincere thanks." Marvin Village, Met-clad Limited
Providing bespoke GRP fabrication solutions is all about delivering a specific answer to a unique and individual problem. Recognised by the design and construction industry to set the standards in the supply and fit of GRP composite products, Torclad is used by many major new development companies as well as local authorities.
Applications for Archifab composite fabrications are virtually limitless, as Andy Smith at Pick Everard illustrates:
"We have had a sample in the office from Archifab for another project where it appears the real copper canopy roof is not very good when in contact from water run-off from Cedar boarding. The sample sent in looked really good, so watch this space."
