| The Archifab team played a major part in a total image change for the Gala Bingo Centre in Coventry. |

Coventry's original home of bingo was the old city centre Hippodrome. Now housed in a striking new building just outside the town centre, the image of bingo in Coventry will never be the same again!
The new building incorporates a number of design and roofing features, which are innovative, good looking and functional.
A distinctive visual feature of the new building is the elegant Archifab cornice, the perfect fulfilment of the architect's design vision. Having worked with GRP fabrications before, architects Simon Design had confidence that Archifab would provide an infinitely superior design solution to any metal or other alternative material. The GRP composite fabrications are far more accurate than metal sections. The joints are completely true, creating pure visual lines that would be impossible to achieve with other materials.
The Archifab cornice is particularly effective on the building's rotunda, where the architect's objective was to create completely smooth, curved lines, without having to resort to faceted panels. The special fabrication by the Archifab team achieved the desired effect perfectly, to a standard that would be impossible to achieve with more traditional materials and methods. In addition to the visually pleasing lines achieved, the architects were particularly impressed by the dimensional accuracy of the composite fabrications.
The overall visual style and quality of workmanship set standards that so delighted the architects and client that several more similar projects for Gala Bingo are planned in Kent and the Isle of Man.
Torclad's roofing/cladding division also won the contract for the Gala Bingo roofing works, with high performance single ply PVC flat roofing and striking low pitch composite roofing, all finished to exceptional standards in line with the overall high standards of the building.
The Archifab team has made a unique contribution to a quality architectural design concept, and provided a cost-effective, problem-free, high performance roofing and waterproofing solution. |
